Kristin Nicole Dukes earned a B.A. in Psychology from Rice University in 2005. She earned an M.S. in Social Psychology in 2007 as well as a Ph.D. in Social Psychology in 2012 from Tufts University in Medford, MA. Dr. Dukes is currently an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Simmons College in Boston, MA.

She is also director of the Simmons College Social Cognition (SC2) Lab. SC2 Lab conducts research examining the social cognitive aspects of stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination. The lab’s primary goal is to understand how people perceive others and the world around them--how we form impressions of others and what factors influence our beliefs and attitudes about our social world. Current research topics of interest to the lab include determining the types of features used when forming impressions of others, from skin tone to attire; representations and perceptions of women as a function of their race/ethnicity and gender; and obesity stigma, attitudes concerning weight-loss and maintenance, and body image.
